User-Centered Design

At Zauber we develop and optimize products' user experience by focusing on the users who will be operating them. By validating a product with your target audience at the beginning of its development and being in touch with users at every stage of the project, we can focus and work on empirical findings that are important for the product. This user-centered methodology saves resources and allows us to deliver the best user experience and usability.

User Research

Different UCD methodologies provide us with lots of information about the needs, motivations and objectives of those who will be the users. This information guides the design process and shapes the final product.

Research Process:

With on-context interviews to the potential users, we learn more about them, their environment, ideas, relationship with technology and with similar products.

Our research is summarized by modeled users that describe how real users behave and think, their skills, needs and motivations.

Instead of using abstract use cases, where the user is just a gear that operates the system, we put our constructed Personas in action with their goals as our main requirement for the design of each screen and each pixel.

Information Architecture

Internet is a medium where users consume information by interacting with it. Because of this, organizing the contents of your site or product in a system that makes sense for users and reflects the way they naturally express, can help them to intuitively interact with the product, building a high-quality relationship.

Card Sorting

Card Sorting is a method that help us to discover which organization makes more sense for the product's users. We invite representative users to organize the content cards and to choose names for that groups in a way that makes sense to them.

Site map and navigation system

Based on the lessons learned from the card sorting and persona-based task analysis, we give a hierarchy and structure to the different pieces of content of your product.

S.E.O.

Speaking in the language of your user and aligning this language with Search Engine Optimization techniques can help your site's visibility on search engines.

Interaction design

Rapid Prototyping

We start to build each screen and each feature with rapid prototyping on paper, improving its definition as we better understand the needs of the project's users.

Wireframes

Wireframes are the main way of communication for the team. While the visual design is refined, working with wireframes can help us make changes faster and think the application's design isolated from its aesthetic details.

Heuristic guidelines

During the project development, we constantly have in mind Nielsen's heuristic guidelines. This allows us to anticipate potential problems that may have the product in the future.

Testing

Usability test

We carry on usability tests with representative users using wireframes or existent products. We observe users performing specific tasks and take notes of implementation difficulties

Heuristic evaluation

Following the heuristics guidelines, our usability experts can evaluate prototypes or interfaces that are already in operation and recommend how to improve them.
